PARRAMATTA ACES ANOTHER GRANT

President Terry Rogerson reflected “A few years ago, we spoke to Tennis NSW frustrated that we continued to apply for grants and missed out on a regular basis. The help we have received through using the Tennis NSW resources and access to their helpful team has really made a difference.”

Parramatta City Tennis has now received five grants over the past five years, including the Facility Enhancement Fund, ATP Cup Legacy Fund and several government grants, that in combination with club funds have been used to upgrade to LED Lighting, resurface 13 of their 17 courts and this most recent project.

Tennis NSW Regional Manager Daniela Scivetti added “The Parramatta Committee and club coach professional have worked hard and done a great job to not only obtain grants and plan these projects, but to also improve its overall operation and programming offerings, digital solutions, governance and collaboration with Council. This has together led to improved venue sustainability which translates into higher visitation, better participant satisfaction, improved finances (which have helped co-fund critical asset renewal) and appreciation by the local community as a valued asset and service.”

Parramatta City Tennis have big plans for the future, including the replacement of their sixty-year-old clubhouse and other works which will see them realise the vision to transform the venue into a premier community tennis hub. Brett Pettersen, Tennis NSW Places to Play Manager, said “the ongoing investment in facility funding is a key initiative of our State Infrastructure strategy and is having a real impact leveraging projects big and small in venues all over the state, and in particular in critical strategic venues like Parramatta.”

“We’re grateful to Tennis NSW for this funding and all the wonderful support we receive,” said Rogerson.
