What is the Future Leaders Program?
Future Leaders is a Tennis NSW program designed to engage and empower young people in volunteering and community leadership by supporting participants in the delivery of a 15-hour tennis project in collaboration with their tennis club, coach or community organisation.
This program is a great off-court development opportunity supporting teens to strengthen connections with their local tennis community, get a taste of volunteering and responsibility, develop project management skills, connect teens with potential career pathways and assist clubs with succession planning.

- Applications will close Friday 19 July 2024.
- $50 participation fee. The fee is only payable if a program position is secured.
- Participants can select to be considered for a scholarship to support their program participation fee.
Who can Apply?
This program is for Year 9 and 10 students in NSW or ACT
- There are Diversity and Inclusion Scholarships on offer which cover the $50 course fee (see application for more details).
- To encourage participants from remote areas to apply, we are offering a maximum of 4 participants $250 Scholarships to help cover travel/accommodation. Click Here to see if you are in a remote region and eligible to apply for this scholarship.
What’s Involved?
This program will involve a short, 4-module online course, a 2-hour online webinar and a 2 day in-person workshop at Sydney Olympic Park. The workshop will include a session with professional speaker Ram Castillo, on-court activities including an adaptive tennis experience and a complimentary formats taster, team building exercises, assistance with project development as well as a complimentary officiating foundations course.
After the workshop, participants will undertake their 15-hour project with the support of their clubs and Tennis NSW.
Through the development and execution of projects participants can access support from Tennis NSW including:
- Project Planning Templates and Resources
- Example Project Ideas and Plans
- Project support drop-in sessions online monthly
- Access to Local Tennis Development Officer for support
Once complete, participants will be invited to attend a graduation event/youth experience at the 2025 United Cup.
