Local Tennis Pride Events

With the support of Tennis Australia, NSW Tennis venues have been delivering Pride Events since 2023 through AO Pride Nights and Serving Pride Initiatives.

The aim of these initiative is to educate and support tennis clubs on how they can be inclusive of their local LGBTQ+ community by providing a welcoming and safe environment. It is also an opportunity for tennis clubs to lead the way on advocating zero tolerance towards homophobia, biphobia, transphobia. Venues who participate in these initiatives receive LGBTQI+ inclusion training with Pride Cup.

Mardi Gras Fair Day

Tennis NSW in conjunction with Tennis Sydney host a stall at the Mardi Gras Fair Day annually. Tennis Sydney is Australia’s largest LGBTQI+ tennis club and welcomes all players from beginner to advanced to join their community.

Tennis Sydney Australias Largest LGBTQI+ Tennis Club host annual tournaments for LGBTQI+ Community members and allies.

TOURNAMENTS

Tennis Sydney hosts seven tournaments each year, including two Gay Lesbian Tennis Alliance (GLTA) sanctioned tournaments and five club tournaments.

Tennis Sydney host Sunday Social tennis every Sunday 12pm – 5pm.

Glam Slam (Australian Open)

The Glam Slam is an international tennis event sanctioned by the Gay Lesbian Tennis Alliance (GLTA) and held in Melbourne during the Australian Open. In 2020, a total of 200 participants from over 30 countries took part in this event. Participants and visitors had the opportunity to take part in the AO Film Festival and other inclusive social events.
