Women and Girls: Programs & Initiatives
“It is widely acknowledged that diversity delivers better decision-making and organisational effectiveness. It is also known that systemic biases get in the way of women’s advancement and that the solutions require systemic change.
Inclusive sporting environments are those where gender roles, stereotypes and unconscious bias are challenged, and respectful, equal relationships are the norm.
Leaders on and off the field in sport are key influencers, yet fewer women than men are appointed leaders. Strong gender balanced leadership that brings breadth of perspective, better decision making and encourages cultural change to better support girls’ and women’s involvement.”
Her Sport Her Way
The NSW Government, Office of Sport, Women in Sport Strategy, Her Sport Her Way (2019-2023) aims to build a stronger sport sector where women and girls are valued, recognised and have equal choices and opportunities to lead and participate. It provides a clear role for the NSW Government to work with the sector and new partners in innovative ways to shape the future of women’s sport.
