DTC Sports Fury overcame a slow start in the doubles to defeat Lifetime Gardens 10 Rubbers to 8 Rubbers in Round 1 action.

Ryan Palfrey continued to impress after his back to back wins at the Katherine Open and DTC Sports Open earlier this month. Palfrey defeated Lifetime Gardens’ number 1 Damien Mamolo 6-3 6-1. However Mamolo teamed with Daniel Parker to settle the score with a 6-2 6-2 win in the doubles over Palfrey and Jamie Stefanato.

NTIS athletes Emily Moo and Kaelan Bates also secured comfortable wins for DTC Sports Fury in their respective singles matches. 

Lifetime Gardens welcomed Dave Bridges back onto the court; Bridges recorded an impressive 6-3 6-1 win over younger opponent Chris Wevill in the singles and a come from behind win with Ian Redmond in the doubles defeating Wevill and Sam Giess 4-6 6-0 7-6.

Bridges sits at the top of the Player of the Year’ leader board with his two wins; he is also joined by Madeleine Murray, Emily Moo and Daniel Parker who also recorded two wins.

After Round 1 DTC Sports Fury sit on top of the Premiership Table.
