Round 4 of the People’s Choice Metro League was played for the first time on a Wednesday night to fit the 12 round competition into the ten week competition block.
AWOF Sports hosted Gardens Tennis 1 who were in devastating form !

Both doubles matches went the way of Gardens Tennis with the same score line 6-2 6-2. It was AWOF #1 Des McLellan who secured there only rubber of the night, 7-5 6-0 over Ben Scott. Michael Shepheard, Stephen Lewis-Driver and David Bridges all had comfortable wins, losing seven games collectively in their three matches.
Tennis Palmerston 1 hosted Gardens Tennis 2 in a battle which came down to the very end !

Gardens Tennis 2: 3 rubbers / 7 sets / 65 games
The match of the night had to go to Bethany Illeman (TP1) and Stephen Tombens (GT2) who were the first singles match on court but the last match to finish. In the end it was Illeman’s who secured the win 7-5 6-7 7-6 with a booming first serve ace down the ‘t’. Tombens had his revenge in the doubles however, teaming with Andrew Hawke to defeat Illeman and Darren Jacobson 6-1 6-1.
After Round Four Gardens Tennis 1 sits comfortably on top of the People’s Choice Metro League Ladder with 38 points.
Daniel Parker (TP1) has a slight lead on the People’s Choice Metro League Player of the Year Leaderboard with 20 points.
