Congratulations to Nightcliff Primary School and the Gove Peninsula Tennis Club who have both been named as finalists for the Newcombe Medal, Australian Tennis Awards.

Nightcliff Primary School are finalists in the Most Outstanding School category and will face tough competition from Scotch College VIC and Parkes Public School NSW. This is the second consecutive year that Nightcliff Primary School has been a finalist in this category.

Gove Peninsula Tennis Club are finalists in the Most Outstanding Tennis Community and are up against Northern Suburbs Tennis NSW and City Community Club NSW. The Gove Peninsula Tennis Club will be going for their third award, after previously winning this award in 2011 and the Most Outstanding Tennis Club at the inaugural awards back in 2010.

“As well as recognising the achievements of Australia’s most outstanding tennis player, the awards celebrate the exceptional accomplishments and contributions of the many tennis communities, coaches, clubs and schools around the country” said Tennis Australia CEO Craig Tiley.

The Newcombe Medal, Australian Tennis Awards will be held Monday 2 December 2013 in Melbourne at the Crown Palladium.
