Australian tennis great and the current Federal Member for Bennelong in New South Wales, John “JA” Alexander OAM MP was on hand at AWOF Sports to have a hit and provide some tips to some of Darwin’s aspiring junior players.
Alexander is currently in Darwin for the Tourism and Transport Forum.
John Alexander, better know as “JA” had a professional tennis career spanning from the late 1960s to the mid 1980s. In that time he reached a carer-high ranking of No.4 in 1975 and claimed two Grand Slam doubles titles at the Australian Open in ’75 (with Phil Dent) and ’82 (with John Fitzgerald).
