On Friday the second ITF junior event hosted in Darwin reached finals day. It was a battle of the top seeds across all of the draws. The girls and boys finals were played at the same time, on the covered Show Court and Court 1 respectively.

Audrey AULIA (4) faced off against Georgia CAMPBELL (6). AULIA had knocked out the top seed Diana BADALYAN in the semi-finals the day before. AULIA was slightly favoured to win but also it was clear either girl had a strong chance. The match kicked off with CAMPBELL in control and she managed to maintain her dominance for the duration of the match when it counted, coming away with a straight set win 6:2,  6:3.

Under the sun, the boys final between Cameron BURTON (3) and Ashton MCLEOD (2) was a see-saw. BURTON took the first set and MCLEOD fought back with an empathic comeback in the second. The third and final was hard-fought tense affair, and ultimately MCLEOD took the win. Final score 4:6, 6:1, 6:2.

In the girls and boys doubles, we were happy to see our top boys and girls singles players in the doubles finals aswell. Alice STEPHENS and Ava-Monet SYCAMORE were too strong for Shiori TAKEDA and Nayayo WADA, 6:3; 6:1.

In the boys doubles finals Bryan DICKSON and Michael SMITH came to face second-seed duo Minhoon LEE and Ashton MCLEOD (2) hoping to take their second boys doubles trophies home. Both pairs came to the final following tough semi-finals matches and the final was an entertaining tussle with the teams very evenly matched. The match went to a 3rd set tiebreak and DICKSON and SMITH finessed the final points to claim their second championship from two consecutive events in Darwin. Well done guys!
