Freshwater Tennis Club hosts MLC Hot Shots Challenge
Fusion Tennis will host its 3rd round of MLC Hot Shots Challenge matches this Sunday at the Freshwater Tennis Club.
Three clubs (Trinity Beach, Freshwater and Clifton Beach) have combined their MLC Hot Shot participants to provide experience and fun via tennis matchplay.
The MLC Hot Shots is an entry level program for all beginners, fully endorsed by Tennis Australia.

TENNIS NETS AVAILABLE
The Far North Regional Assembly has eight (8) tennis nets and posts that were donated to the regional assembly by the Tropical North Tennis Association before the club’s closure in lieu of the new centre.
The nets and pots are in good condition as they were purchased a year before the club closed down.
The Regional Assembly wish to donate the nets and posts to any interested clubs in the region. If your club is interested in any of the nets or posts, please contact myself for further details at [email protected]
STANWELL COMMUNITY FAMILY FUN DAY
Host a Tennis Community Fun Day at your club! Tennis Queensland and the Stanwell Corporation are proud to promote a region wide advertising campaign for your tennis club.
Your club’s involvement:
- Hold a Family Fun Day on May 22 at your tennis venue from 9am – 12pm.
- Have a coach and club representative onsite to engage participants and parents
- Supply flyers to promote your club’s services
- Include a MLC Tennis Hothots demonstration
- Supply photos from your Family Fun Day to your Community Tennis Officer
The Family Fun Day promotion will be supported by:
- An advertisement in the Cairns Post (21 May 2011) and lead-up advertising in the Cairns Post 14, May 2011.
- Giveaways and prizes for participating clubs.
- Brisbane International Raffle – Brisbane International Final Tickets for two people with accommodation and flights for winner for all clubs raffle.

ASHLEE PRIDDEY – NATIONALS SECONDARY SCHOOL CHAMPIONSHIPS
Congratulations to Ashlee Priddey who competed as a member of the Peninsula Team at the State Secondary School Championships in Rockhampton a few weeks ago. Ashlee had impressive results in the individual in the singles draw, only losing 1 match against the No. 1 seed. As a result Ashlee has qualified to represent Qld in the Nationals Secondary School Championships in Bendigo in May.
