An all-Queensland girls team has been selected to respresent Australia on the world stage!

Naiktha Bains (Brisbane), Lizette Cabrera(Townsville) and Olivia Tjandramulia(Rockhampton) will compete in the 14/U ITF World Junior Tennis Finalcommencing in Prostejov, Czech Republic, today.

Former Australian Davis Cup player and National Academy – Melbourne coach Wayne Arthurs will captain the Queensland stars, who have been seeded No.3 in the prestigious international event behind No.1 Russia and No.2 USA.

On day one of the round robin competition they meet unseeded Morocco, followed by Argentina and No.6 seeded Slovenia.

The 16 teams in the competition are divided into four round-robin groups and the winner of each group will progress to the knockout stage with the finals to take place on Saturday.

In 2010 the Australian girls team of Ashleigh Barty (Qld), Isabella Beischer (Vic) and Lyann Hoang (Qld) won the bronze medal at this event.
