Queensland has just won the Primary School Bruce Cup Championships for the fifth year in a row- a feat never before accomplished by any other state in the history of the event!

The tournament, which was held in Canberra, saw each Australian state play off for the National Bruce Cup Championship title.

After their 4th year straight victory last year, our young stars were determined to make the record books again, putting up an incredible fight, and eventual victory against their top rival Victoria in a nail biting final round. 

The results were as follows:

Queensland Team Manager Vanette Tobin was ecstatic with the state’s impressive result.

“The team worked so cohesively to produce an outstanding result.”

“The Bruce Cup emphasises working in a team environment, which is experience that is uncommon for athletes in an individual sport such as tennis.”

The 2011 QLD Bruce Cup team consisted of the following players:

Boys: Harrison Brown, Adam Walton, Blake Ellis, Alex Crnokrak, Cameron Greenhill, Daniel Groundwater, Daniel Birak

Girls: Somer Dalla-bona, Kyra Yap, Jemima Frazer, Sally Clark, Shan-ying Barr, Tenika McGiffin, Josephine Dooley
