The Illustrious Type and Design 2012 Queensland Junior Claycourt Championships were completed on the weekend.

 Held at the George Alder Tennis Centre in Ipswich, the Optus Junior Tour Gold Series event showcased some of our state’s finest junior players.

Tournament Director Clint Fyfe felt the tournament provided great match play for competitors.

 “The event is the ideal preparation for the upcoming National Claycourt Titles,”  Fyfe said.

“It’s great for the young players to get to play on the clay courts because it really develops their movement and tactical skills.

“So many of the matches were long tough matches, with eventual winner being the best competitor.”   

The overall finals results were as follows:
