The Burdekin Evolution Mining Open and Ergon Energy Age Tennis Carnival took place over the May long weekend of Saturday 5^th to Monday 7^th.   With over 135 players from Brisbane to Cairns competing, together with good local support, the competition was tough and competitive.  The weather was terrific, which made for a very successful weekend all round.                               

The Tennis Queensland speed serve machine was taken to the Ayr and Home Hill centres, creating a great atmosphere for the kids, and kids at heart. Table tennis was also well received with many of the tennis players trying their hand at the tables at the two centres.   The organisers would especially like to thank all of their sponsors, because without them the tournament would not be a success.  They also paid tribute to the solid local player support and thanked all the club members who helped out in any way over the weekend.
