Australian great John Fitzgerald was in Townsville on 16^th August to launch the MLC Tennis Hot Shots Grand Slam Series supported by Dalle Cort Financial Services.  Hot Shots is Tennis Australia’s development program where kids learn to play with low-compression balls and smaller racquets and nets.

More than anything though, Fitzgerald said it was about having fun.  “It’s a way of having little kids pick up a racquet, play with a soft ball that they can have control of and it’s really easy to play with”, he said.

The Hot Shots Grand Slam Series are fun tournaments for children to enjoy playing competitively in a friendly environment.  Townsville’s ‘mini slam’ will be held at Tennis Townsville on Saturday, September 1^st from 10am.  For more information contact Tennis Townsville on (07) 4721 5129.
