Travis Atkinson joined the Tennis Queensland team this month as Head of Tennis. Travis will be responsible for providing leadership to the TQ tennis team who promote and service programs to affiliates, coaches, members and the greater tennis playing population in Queensland to make tennis a part of the life of all Queenslanders.

Travis was the Cardio Tennis Leader at Tennis Australia. He has a Bachelor of Business Management (Marketing) and is a Tennis Australia Club Professional Coach with over 15 year’s tennis coaching experience, the majority of this being grass roots modified Hot Shots coaching.

Atkinson is well placed to take on the role as a Senior Tennis Administrator having worked in key leadership roles in tennis nationally such as Manager Coach Development and Membership and most recently heading up the development and rollout of Cardio Tennis.

Atkinson will also continue to provide strategic input into the national Cardio tennis program, one of the key priorities in driving participation in Australia.

On joining the team in Queensland Atkinson said, “Tennis has been a part of my life for over 25 years and given me so much as a club and committee member, player, coach, administrator and leader. I’m excited by the prospect of building on the existing success in Queensland and making a broader tennis contribution in the state”.
