2012 Brisbane International Schools Challenge: Great opportunity for all Gold Coast junior players!!!
The 2012 Brisbane International Schools Challenge is being held soon!!
The competition is a great opportunity for our Queensland primary schools to participate in a state-wide team event linked to our marquee event, the Brisbane International.
If you are interested in playing in this, we encourage you to touch base with your schools to gauge their interest around the competition and the representative opportunity available for the children who participate.
South Coast Region date: Tuesday 13 November
Location: Queens Park Tennis, 19 Queen St, Southport
Nominations Close: Tuesday 6 November
In 2011, we had 77 teams from across Queensland participate in the event. Brisbane Boys College were the inaugural state champions defeating Matthew Flinders Anglican College from the Sunshine Coast in the final. The event offers all player’s the opportunity to participate in a team competition in a sport which is primarily individual. The competition will utilise a yellow ball and full court as the event is aimed at player’s between 10 and 13 years old.
The competition is entirely team based with boys and girls participating together.
All players are guaranteed the same amount of tennis due to the timed based format.
Regional play-offs will be held across the state with the winners from each play-off invited to compete in the state final at the 2013 Brisbane International (you may even get to see Andy Murray!)
