The Junior Teams Carnival is one of the most exciting events that Tennis Queensland has on the Junior Tournaments calendar in Queensland. The Metropolitan region plays host to the South, West, Central, Sunshine Coast, Gold Coast and North Regions. Because of the size of the Metropolitan area the region is spilt into Metro North and Metro South Regions. The Brisbane River is the dividing boarder between the Metro North and Metro South Regions. A Player will be selected based on where they reside and their Australian Ranking at the time of selection will determine their ranking position team.
Once selected into either the Metro North or the Metro South Team the player will automatically be entered into the QLD Junior Teams Carnival Singles draw. The singles draw is where they will compete individually and receive Silver ranking points (Except 17/under).
Event Information
Event date: 15th – 19th December 2012
Australian Ranking Points: No AR points on Teams Event
11/U will receive 12/U Silver points
13/U will receive 14/U Silver points
15/U will receive 16/U Silver points
17/U THERE WIll be 18/u white points
Format: Individual and Team events
– Each team (6 players – 3boys/3girls), with two teams (A and B) in each age division.
– Metro South and Metro North will have an 11’s, 13’s, 15’s, 17’s with an A team and a B team in each age group.
– Players who are selected to compete will be automatically be entered into the Individual (Singles draw) of the Tournament.
– Each team match will consist of 8 rubbers
- · 1 girls doubles
- · 1 boys doubles
- · 2 mixed doubles
- · 2 girls singles
- · 2 boys singles (preferably played in this order)
– All rubbers in the 13/U, 15/U and under 17/U are played first to 9 games with a 12-point tiebreaker at 8 all
– All rubbers in 11/U are first to 6 games with a 12-point tiebreaker at 6 all
