At the Teams Carnival Dinner in Perth in January, long-time Tennis Seniors Queensland Secretary Coral Vickers was awarded the TSA Administrator of the Year for 2012.
Coral has served as a Committee member since 1986 and has been State Secretary of Tennis Seniors Queensland since 2001. She has gained considerable knowledge of all aspects of Seniors tennis during that time and was on the Organising Committee of the ITF Australian Tennis Seniors Championships held on the Gold Coast in 1997, 2004 and 2010.
She is Tournament Secretary for Queensland State Titles and two ITF tournaments held during the year. One is TSQ Claycourt Championships held at Ipswich in August and the other is TSQ Sunshine Coast Championships held at Tewantin in September. This year she undertook the role of joint Tournament Director at Tewantin with the assistance of Warren Arnell of Gympie as Gail Bates was overseas with husband, Max at the ITF World Championships in Umag, Croatia.
Other tasks undertaken by Coral during the year include managing the membership database and issuing membership cards, newsletters, uniforms and organising teams for Australian Championships. Her involvement with tennis administration has been with a number of organizations including the Brisbane Ladies Tennis Association, Brisbane Seniors Tennis Club, Brisbane Hardcourt Tennis Association and Tennis Seniors Queensland.
Coral is well known to players from other States because of her involvement as a player and administrator in the Annual Championships.
