Tennis fever is starting to grow in anticipation of the 2013 Hutchinson Builders Toowoomba International at the University of Southern Queensland from September 7 to 15.
The event will be promoted throughout the region with a mini-bus niomed with details of the tournament.
The artwork will be hard to miss as the bus travels around Toowoomba and throughout the Surat Basin during the lead up to the action.
Once the tennis starts, the mini-bus will be used to trarisport players and officials from the Toowoomba Regional Tennis Centre to USQ to their accommodation and other points of interest.
Cr Geoff McDonald said the council was extremely supportive of the event and took great delight in having it promoted by every means possible.
“This tournament contiriues to grow and reinforces what we already know, that the Toowoomba region is an ideal venue for staging major sporting events. We’ve got the facilities, the accommodation, the climate and now we’ve got the bus.” The flutchinson Builders Toowoomba International is an event in Tennis Australia’s Australian Pro Tour series of professional tennis events that offer players more than $1.2 million in prize money and ATP World Tour and WTA ranking points.
