The MLC Tennis Hot Shots program is the starting point for future tennis champions. It’s a fun and exciting way for kids to learn how to play tennis, with the use of smaller courts, lighter racquets and low compression balls that don’t bounce too high. The program is based on a ‘learning through play’ philosophy where children learn to serve, rally and score.
On Saturday 7th September, Tennis Townsville will host the US Open Mini Grand Slam Hot Shots Tournament, supported by Dalle Cort Financial Services. The Hot Shots tournament is the perfect opportunity for children to participate in a competitive environment, whilst still undertaking the key elements of the MLC Tennis Hot Shots program.
Participants compete based on what stage they are up to in the program, whether that be red, orange, or green stages, with different match formats to ensure participants are given the best on court experience for their playing ability.
Wayne Hannah, Tennis Townsville Head Coach says, “MLC Tennis Hot Shots is the perfect fit to my existing coaching programs. Kids want to play the game of tennis and with the use of modified equipment, children as young as 4 years of age are provided the chance to enjoy tennis.”
The US Open Mini Grand Slam will take place from 3:30pm on Saturday afternoon at Tennis Townsville, and coincides with the business end of the US Open Grand Slam tournament, currently being played at Flushing Meadows, Queens, New York.
American style afternoon tea will be supplied in the form of hot dogs and apple pies, and all participants will receive a sponsors goodie bag thanks to MLC and Dalle Cort Financial Services.
