Queensland Tennis Centre – Facility Operator
Tennis Queensland is seeking a suitably qualified and experienced facility operator to deliver tennis programs and other associated products/services at the Queensland Tennis Centre (QTC).
The facility operator will manage the QTC as a public tennis venue by offering access to tennis coaching, competitions, court hire, pro shop and cafe’ areas. All information on the QTC facility operations are contained in the Request for Proposal (RFP) document.
Tennis Queensland will offer a 10 year agreement to the successful facility operator who will drive the sport at this flagship tennis facility.
Through Tennis Queensland’s partnership with Stadiums Queensland and the Queensland Government, the QTC operates as a sustainable facility offering tennis and other services to the community.
Objectives
The ultimate objective is to create a welcoming community tennis facility where more people play tennis more often.
To achieve this, the successful facility operator will meet the following tennis objectives:
- Offer coaching programs for all ages and abilities
- Offer Tennis Hot Shots and Cardio Tennis
- Offer tournaments and competitions for players of all ages and abilities
- Offer casual pay for play and progressive membership options, catered to the local market
- Allow access for all and integrate with local stakeholders including schools and community groups
- Understand and account for local community needs
- Offer other services to drive patronage and compliment tennis
- Deliver a sustainable business model that assures the financial viability of the venue into the future
- Manage the assets of the centre in such a way as to minimise maintenance and replacement costs
Business objectives will also be developed in conjunction with the appointed facility operator.
Financial Commitment
Tennis Queensland, who holds the lease on the QTC is committed to ensuring the facility is maintained and presented as a first class sporting venue for the enjoyment of the community. Operating a tennis facility of this magnitude involves significant costs. The successful facility operator will be required to contribute to some of the costs (shared costs) related to operating and maintaining the facility. Evaluation Criteria
The following evaluation criteria will be used to assess RFP submissions:
- Tennis experience knowledge and skills (20%)
- Tennis industry knowledge (10%)
- Management and servicing levels (10%)
- Financial offer (30%)
- Provision and contents of a business plan (15%)
- Financial viability and capacity to deliver (15%)
