The Queensland Money Race finals were a new addition at the Brisbane International in 2014. The event showcased Queensland’s leading tournament players who featured in marquee open events throughout Queensland in 2013.
The top 24 men and top 16 women from this series were invited to the state final held at the Queensland Tennis Centre from the 3rd of January through to the finals day on the 5th of January 2014. Players competed for a prize pool consisting of $16,000 and the honour of being crowned the leading open tournament player in Queensland.
Congratulations to all of the players who earned a position at the final and a special congratulations to our inaugural champions Lizette Cabrera (Brisbane) and Gavin Van Peperzeel (Bribie Island) who defeated Ashling Sumner (Brisbane) and Robert Smeets (Brisbane) in their respective finals. Along with the trophy both title winners took home $3,000 to build on their tennis future.
The Queensland Money Race will be held once again in 2014. Ensure you get along to as many Australian Money Tournament’s here in Queensland as possible to earn a position at the state final for the nextBrisbane International tournament.
