23 June 2014 | Tennis Queensland
June is certainly the start of a busy period for our sports officials.
During the month of June, we have held two officiating courses in the metro area. One for the role of Court Supervisor and the other for our National Level B Chair Umpires. Both courses were well attended. Over the upcoming months, many of our course participants will be seen at tournaments, as they work towards their accreditation. Thank you to the individuals who came along and supported the courses.
We wish ‘happy officiating’ to Nick Marjason, Rob Leak and Shannon Walding as they fly the Queensland flag for the Australians, selected to officiate during Wimbledon Qualies, Wimbledon Main Draw and some other tournaments during the British Summer. No doubt they will all do a great job.
Upcoming Events
Many Queensland officials will be seen servicing the upcoming Platinum AMT’s, Rod Laver Junior Championships, ITF Seniors, ITF Juniors. We wish them all the best.
27th July – Development opportunity for officials who have already attended courses in the roles of Line and Chair Umpire. This will be held during the Medibank JDS at Morningside. More information will be emailed directly to the appropriate individuals. If you see us there, come and say ‘hi’.
