Brisbane Boys College (BBC) were the overall winners of the recent Queensland State Secondary Schools Team Tennis Competition going through undefeated.
The BBC Boys Tennis Team travelled to Rockhampton to compete against 120 of the best secondary schools from around Queensland.
It was a very successful trip for the BBC team who finished in 1st place and booked their place in the in the Australian Schools Tennis Challenge to be held in Albury from the 22nd– 26th of November, 2014.
Head Coach Chris Rolph said that the #1 seeded BBC Team lived up to expectations and performed extremely well.
“I was really pleased with the performance. We went into the competition quietly confident and the boys really came through and played well,” Rolph said.
The Australian Schools Challenge will present the BBC Team with some very strong competition as they go up against some of the largest schools across Australia.
“The Australian Championships will be an extremely tough competition but I have confidence in our team and I believe we have a real chance if the boys perform as well as I know they can,” he said.
The BBC Tennis Team to compete at the Australian Schools Challenge is led by Jack Jaede and also features Mitchell Wilson, Jie Dong, Nick Liddy, Lewis Edwards and Tom Liddy.
This year the winner of the Australian event will represent Australia at the International Schoolsports Federation Event in Qatar which will be held in March, 2015.
