Over the coming months, there are 3 coaching course opportunities available with Tennis Australia in southeast Queensland. Junior Development Coaching Course (Inc. Cert III in Sport Coaching):
Redcliffe Tennis Center: 7 Mar – 1 Aug, 2015 (Registration Closing: 21 February 2015)

During the Junior Development coaching course, participants learn to develop the skills of junior tennis players through the delivery of the ANZ Tennis Hot Shots program.  There is a major focus on planning, delivering and reflecting on coaching sessions and creating positive learning environments for children.  The course covers the Tennis Australia technical and tactical fundamentals, Cardio Tennis, legal and ethical responsibilities of a coach, risk management, program planning, tennis rules, personal development and using technology.  Through Tennis Australia’s collaboration with the Registered Training Organisation (RTO) Smart Connection Training, course participants are able to enroll with Smart Connection Training to undertake this program as a nationally recognised SIS30713 Certificate III in Sport Coaching qualification*. Coaches completing this course are recognised as Tennis Australia qualified coaches.  This course is recommended for trainee coach members and assistant coaches.

Community Coaching Course:
Gold Coast: 14-15 & 21-22 Mar, 2015 (Registration Closing: 6 March 2015)

The Tennis Australia Community Coaching Course is designed to train coaches to develop the skills of junior tennis players with a focus on the ANZ Tennis Hot Shots program. The course aims to develop the participant’s ability to deliver coaching sessions using modified balls, racquets, nets and courts appropriate to the developmental needs of junior players.  This course is suitable for people who would like to begin coaching tennis, or who are currently coaching, under the guidance of a qualified tennis coach.

Club Professional Coaching Course (inc Cert IV in Sport Coaching):
Brisbane: 25 Mar – 21 Oct, 2015 (Registration Closing: 11 March 2015)

The Club Professional coaching course prepares coaches to become head coaching professionals at tennis clubs and centres.  The course focuses on coaching tennis and growing a small business.  Participants will further develop their ability to plan and deliver coaching sessions with an increased emphasis on developing tactical skills and analysing and correcting technical skills of intermediate players.  Applying sport sciences, such as sport psychology, nutrition, strength and conditioning, using technology to analyse performance and planning programs for players of all ages are also covered.  The course will provide coaches with the basic tools to grow a small business, such as small business planning and finances, managing risk, providing customer service and customising programs for customers.  Through Tennis Australia’s collaboration with the Registered Training Organisation (RTO) Smart Connection Training, course participants are able to enroll with Smart Connection Training to undertake this program as a nationally recognised SIS40512 Certificate IV in Sport Coaching qualification*.
