On Wednesday the 27th of May, the town of Peregian Beach came together to host Peregian Beach’s Biggest, Longest Morning Tea. The event was held in collaboration between Peregian Beach Community House, Annie’s Bookshop and Peregian Beach Tennis Club.
The morning kicked off with Peregian Tennis Club’s ‘hit for a cure’ from 9am for social tennis, breakfast and a cuppa. The Peregian Community House then hosted their biggest morning tea from 10.30am, with local musical entertainment, loads of prizes and heaps of sandwhiches, cakes and biscuits.
Proceeds from the day go straight to the Cancer Council for cancer prevention and research as well as support services for those left scarred by operations and grueling treatments. Thanks to research and science there are inroads being made into better outcomes for those with this horrible disease.
On the day, the event raised more than $3,000 to donate to the Cancer Council.
