The hugely successful Win a Wildcard competition will return again in 2015, giving players across Queensland a shot at competing in the mixed doubles event at the Australian Open 2016.

Eight clubs nation-wide will host Win a Wildcard events, with the Sunshine Coast Regional Tennis Centre in Caloundra the chosen venue for Queensland.

The winning Queensland A-grade pair will then battle it out against each state and territory’s champion duo during the December Showdown, to be awarded a spot in the first Grand Slam of the year. The overall A-grade winner will also receive hotel accommodation in Melbourne, Australian Open tournament accreditation, player transport and services and access to player areas.

The competition is also open to B and C grade players, with each state and territory’s finalists progressing through to the Social Playoff Event held at Melbourne Park during the second week of the Australian Open 2016.
