New appointments Warwick Nicol and Nadeena Whitby will join the Tennis Queensland board as Directors, starting at the final meeting of the year to be held on 30th November. We also welcome Allan Harris who was re-elected into his position for a second three-year term. Congratulations to each Director on their appointment.
Our new Directors bring with them a new perspective to tennis with the aim to help grow the business using their experiences inside and out of the tennis world.
Mr. Nicol is no stranger to the sport, having worked in both the private and not-for-profit arms, chairing his local Regional Assembly for no less than five years and playing an integral role in the services Tennis Brisbane provide to metropolitan clubs and centres.
“I have been involved in the sport my entire life in roles as player, coach, tournament director and administrator,” Mr. Nicol said.
“In my tennis career I have gained a wealth of knowledge on the industry at both a local and state level, and have built strong relationships throughout Queensland and nationally with our stakeholders.
“I look forward to bringing a strong collaborative approach to the development of the sport.”
Ms. Whitby comes onto the Board as an external director, bringing more than 15 years’ experience in communication such as media, social media and stakeholder engagement throughout her career. She currently works for Lendlease in the role of Nation Manager External Affairs.
