World No. 1 Dylan Alcott (AUS) captured both the quad singles and doubles title at the Queensland Tennis Centre on Sunday.

The Victorian had complete control in both finals and fired his way to a 6-1 6-1 win over second seed Jamie Burdekin (GBR) in the single. This victory marks the second time Alcott has captured the Brisbane quad’s title and he’s focused on achieving more success this season.

“I played pretty well, I’m really happy,” Alcott said.

“2016 is going to be one of the biggest years of my life defending the Aussie open and also the Paralympics. I’ve really been training hard and hopefully my results can continue like that throughout the whole summer and the rest of the year.”

Alcott paired up with Heath Davidson (AUS) in the quad doubles final and once again Burdekin alongside Antony Cotterill (GBR) were unable to derail the Australians with the final score 6-2 6-2.

In the men’s singles final Takuya Miki (JPN) [4] dealt a loss to Michael Jeremiasz (FRA) [3] 6-3 6-4 to cap off a strong start to the year. Jeremiasz fought hard to force a 15 minute deuce battle, however Miki prevailed and secured the win in the subsequent game.
