One hundred students at St Thomas More Primary School on the Sunshine Coast now have another great reason to jump on the mini court with their brand new tennis racquets, provided by ANZ.

Through the ANZ Tennis Hot Shots program, 30,000 prep school students around Australia have been gifted new racquets thanks to ANZ’s support.

Former Australian Davis Cup coach Josh Eagle was joined by ANZ District Manager Vicki Clarke and Tennis Queensland Participation Leader Nick Crispin to present the new racquets at St Thomas More Primary last week.

Eagle also spent extra time providing an on-court clinic for the next generation of tennis pro’s. After getting the chance to meet the students and see them in action on-court, he was delighted to see the potential that the program offers young Queenslanders,

“The School Partnership Program is accessible to any primary school in Australia and gives kids the opportunity to play tennis as part of their curriculum.

“It’s fantastic to see so many tennis racquets in the hands of young children, which really encourages them to jump on the tennis court for the first time.”
