Arina Rodionova and Ash Barty will head the field in this weekend’s women’s US Open wildcard playoff.
Rodionova, the top seed, and Barty, seeded No.2, are among the five-player field set to do battle at the IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida.
Barty faces a tough test first up in the form of Jarmila Wolfe, the former No.25 on the comeback trail following shoulder surgery.
Barty only recently returned to the sport herself, making her singles comeback during the grasscourt season after stepping away from the sport for almost two years.
Rodionova will face the winner of the match between Aussie youngsters Naiktha Bains and Ellen Perez.
