Kyrgios, Tomic set for Acapulco clash
Nick Kyrgios and Bernard Tomic could meet in the second round of the ATP event in Acapulco while Ash Barty has qualified for the WTA Malaysian Open.

Nick Kyrgios and Bernard Tomic are on course for a second-round showdown at the Abierto Mexicano Telcel event in Acapulco.
Kyrgios, the No.6 seed, opens against Israel’s Dudi Sela and could next face Tomic, provided the Queenslander gets past American Donald Young.
The Aussie duo have landed in a stacked top quarter of the draw, headed by No.1 seed Novak Djokovic and also containing Juan Martin del Potro.
Djokovic and del Potro could meet in the second round, with the winner facing in the quarterfinals whoever triumphs in the projected Kyrgios-Tomic match.
The Acapulco tournament features a strong field showcasing four of the world’s top 10; joining Djokovic in the draw are Rafael Nadal, Marin Cilic and Dominic Thiem.
In the concurrent women’s event, Ajla Tomljanovic will play her first event in 13 months after being sidelined due to shoulder surgery.
Tomljanovic will face No.6 seed Eugenie Bouchard in round one.

At the WTA Malaysian Open in Kuala Lumpur, Aussie Ash Barty won two matches in qualifying to reach the main draw.
Barty beat former top-30 player Urszula Radwanska 6-0 6-1 in 50 minutes in her final qualifying match and will line-up against Irina Falconi in the first round.
The winner will face a likely second-round meeting with No.2 seed Carla Suarez Navarro, provided the Spaniard gets past qualifier Miyu Kato.

Barty reached the last eight in Kuala Lumpur in 2013, which at the time was her first appearance in a WTA quarterfinal.
