Belgium has announced Brussels as the host of its Davis Cup World Group semifinal against Australia in September.
The tie will be staged on an indoor claycourt at Brussels’ Palais 12 on 15-17 September 2017.
Australia arrived at the semifinal stage of the competition after wins on home soil against Czech Republic (first round, February) and the United States (quarterfinals, April).
The green-and-gold last advanced this far in 2015, when it went down to Great Britain in Glasgow.
Great Britain then went on to beat Belgium in the final.
Should Australia win against Belgium, it would be guaranteed a home final against either France or Serbia.
Belgium has won the past two encounters with Australia; in the first round of the 2007 World Group (in Liege) and in a World Group play-off tie in 2010, staged in Cairns.
