John Millman’s victory at last week’s ATP Challenger in Kyoto has vaulted the Queenslander back inside the top 100 for the first time in 13 months.
Millman improved 10 places to world No.93, becoming the fourth Aussie man in the elite ATP bracket.
He trails Nick Kyrgios (No.16), Matt Ebden (No.87) and Jordan Thompson (No.92).
Thompson rose three places to keep his nose ahead of Millman after reaching the Kyoto final, where Millman proved too strong.
Young Aussie Blake Ellis qualified for the main draw of the same Challenger and went all the way to the semifinals, before Millman stopped him in straight sets.
As a result, the 19-year-old rose 164 places to a career-high ranking of 510th.
Another big improver was Thanasi Kokkinakis, who returned to the world’s top 200 after reaching the semifinals of the ATP Challenger tournament in Cuernavaca, Mexico.
Kokkinakis jumped 16 spots to No.199, and is currently the eighth-ranked Aussie.
On the women’s side, Jaimee Fourlis is on the way back up, moving 14 places to No.346.
Her move came after she reached the semis of the Pro Tour event in Perth, winning five matches in a row after beginning the tournament in the qualifying rounds.
Fourlis’ best ranking came 12 months ago, when she peaked at No.271.
