Kandanga Tennis Club hosted a Social Round Robin event on Sunday 22nd July which saw a number of clubs in the Region come together to play in a fun social setting including a Tennis Workout warm up and round robin doubles format. The day attracted 30 players from other clubs in the region from Imbil, Kenilworth and Gherulla Tennis Club.
Club committee member Steve Banney who ran the round robin said, “the day was a great success and these events which bring the smaller clubs together with limited resources and membership base are key to keeping Tennis viable in the country areas.”
With the enthusiasm generated on the day and clubs looking at now getting their two bitumen courts resurfaced, the future looks very promising for the club and the region. Together with Tennis Queensland, Kandanga and other clubs in area will work together in the delivery of a number of these Sunday Social Play sessions which aims to re-engage past players and engage new players who are looking at getting involved in a fun and social setting.
Well done to everyone who participated in the day and congratulations to winners of the events.
