School Championships
The Bruce Cup and Pizzey Cup are national school championships for primary and secondary students respectively.
The Bruce Cup
The Bruce Cup is a prestigious national school tennis championship open to girls and boys aged 12 and under. It’s been contested since 1938 and was first presented by Henry Adam “Harry” Bruce, a former Queensland education minister and later an Australian parliamentary representative.
Many Australian legends played their first representative matches for their state in the Bruce Cup, including Rod Laver, Lew Hoad and Fred Stolle, and more recently, Jason Stoltenberg, Pat Rafter, Todd Woodbridge, Mark Philippoussis, Rachel McQuillan, Evie Dominikovic and more recently Ash Barty, Nick Kyrgios, Thanasi Kokkinakis, Jordan Thompson and Destanee Aiava to mention a few.
Conducted by School Sport Australia in partnership with Tennis Australia, the Bruce Cup attracts Australian ranking points.

The Pizzey Cup
The Pizzey Cup is a prestigious national school tennis championship open to girls and boys aged 18 and under. An 18-and-under singles event, known as the Australia Cup, runs alongside the Pizzey Cup which attracts Australian Ranking points.
The Pizzey Cup provides secondary school students with the opportunity to represent their state – in teams of eight players – and compete against the best players from other states across Australia.
At the conclusion of the tournament, an All Australian team is selected, based on Pizzey Cup and Australia Cup results.
