Regional Coach Initiative
Several tennis clubs and schools across Queensland do not have access to a coach, which limits their engagement in the sport. These communities miss the opportunity to be a part of a sport they can play for life. Our goal is to develop sustainable participation in tennis programs within remote/rural/regional Queensland by recruiting and upskilling local stakeholders to be coaches within their communities.
Our Goal
This initiative aims to recruit and develop community leaders into successful venue operators, enabling them to run businesses that connect key stakeholders and create lasting pathways for players, both at their venue and at other regional locations.
Delivering impact across the Region
Tennis offers numerous benefits to rural communities. It promotes physical fitness and social engagement, provides a positive outlet for youth, teaches valuable life skills, and fosters community bonding. Additionally, tennis can boost the local economy by attracting visitors, and its affordability and accessibility make it an ideal lifelong activity for people of all ages.
For coaches, the demand for quality instruction can increase income through private lessons, group sessions, fixtures and holiday clinics. Coaches also benefit from community programs and partnerships with local schools, creating sustainable opportunities for growth. As tennis grows in popularity, facilities and coaches contribute to the local economy and strengthen their business prospects.
