Congratulations to the Central Region Team to tie for FIRST PLACE with the Gold Coast to become joint Champion Regions at the 2015 JDS State Finals in Rockhampton on the 17th & 18th October winning the Ken Hick/Murray Whitbread Trophy.
It was a mighty effort by the Central Team to fight back from being 5 points behind the leaders after Day 1 of play to become equal winners. It’s the second time in history that there has been a tie for first place, and the last time it happened was with us and the Gold Coast as well. This also makes us back-to-back winners of the JDS State Finals, but this time we have to share our win with the Gold Coast with 54 points all in the final standings of the tournament.
The Central Team also WON the XStrata Cup (North Region v Central Region) once again for another year.
Our winning team was:-
Lacey Robertson, Frances Corpe, Lachlan Vickery, Harrison Rogers, Rahni Parle, Lydia Coulthurst, Hamish Corpe, Owen Ambrey, Gabrielle Robertson, Briannah MacNab, Brendon Schultz, Kyle Johnstone, Brittany Zipf, Adele Ambrey, Nathan Cooke & Lleyton Parle. Team Managers:- Murray Whitbread, Glenn Vickery & Lauren McDonald.
It was a fantastic effort from the team, with a total of 7 players reaching the Finals & 9 players reaching the Semi Finals of their respective age groups with 3 all Central player Finals.
