Congratulations to Ameliija Swaffer-Selff (Moura), Olivia Massingham (Rockhampton) and Alec Braund (Maryborough) in representing Queensland to victory in the 2015 Bruce Cup School Sport Australia National Championships in Hobart (18th -24th October 2015).
Queensland triumphed and claimed back the Bruce Cup defeating defending champions Victoria by two points.
The Bruce Cup is a team-based 12 & under competition with 14 players (7 boys and 7 girls) representing each state, and competing against other states and territories in Singles, Boys/Girls Doubles and Mixed Doubles. The competition is conducted by School Sport Australia (SSA) in partnership with Tennis Australia.
The Bruce Cup has a long and proud tradition with many of Australia’s finest players including Rod Laver, Roy Emerson, Pat Rafter, Mark Philippoussis, Todd Woodbridge, Alicia Molik and Ash Barty starting their careers at the Bruce Cup.
The Central Region is extremely proud of you all and your fantastic achievement. You all represented the Central Region with pride and are a credit to yourself and the region. Well done!
