Congratulations to the St Joseph’s Catholic Primary School teams from Biloela and the Rockhampton Grammar School team that competed recently at the 2016 Brisbane International Schools Challenge State Finals from the 7th January to the 10th January. The school teams competed against Queensland’s best Primary School teams playing the Fast4 format.
St Joseph’s Catholic Primary School from Biloela had two teams competing in the tournament with one team in the Orange Ball Event and one team in the Green Ball Event. The Rockhampton Grammar School team competed in the Green Ball Event.
The Orange Ball event was contested over one day, with the St Joseph’s Primary School team playing some great tennis against tough competition and overall finished in 8th position.
The Green Ball event was contested over 4 days with a total of 17 school teams competing. The Rockhampton Grammar School overall finished in 10th position and the St Joseph’s Catholic Primary School overall finished in 12th position.
The school teams from Biloela and Rockhampton played great tennis and represented their school and the Central Region with pride and enthusiasm! Well done to all players on your great achievement!
All teams had a wonderful experience playing at the Brisbane International and rubbing shoulders with some of the world’s sporting elites, and all players will be sure to remember the experience for many years to come!
