The Western Rivers Cup (WRC) Tennis Competition is an initiative between the South West Indigenous Network (SWIN) and Tennis Queensland (TQ). The vision is to create an enjoyable, impactful and sustainable tennis experience engaging Indigenous Communities. WRC provides an introduction to coloured-ball tennis and an opportunity to work with Indigenous Community Leaders. It is also the start of the Indigenous pathway, leading to the National Indigenous Tennis Carnival (NITC).Big thank you to all who attended this year Western Rivers Cup Tennis Challenge.
The 2019 event was held on the 15th of June in Toowoomba with approximately 60 kids aged 10-17 years who participated. 15 players who participated in the challenge will receive an opportunity to be part of the Qld team travelling to Darwin from 29 August – 1 September 2019 for the National Indigenous Carnival.
A big thank you to all stakeholders from the Region, TQ and SWIN for organising this tournament and a massive congratulations to team Cunnamulla for winning 2019 Western Rivers Tennis Cup🎾🏆
