Congratulations to the Barcaldine Lawn Tennis Club Inc. on winning the Queensland Regional Club of the Year Award at the recent Tennis Queensland Awards Night in Brisbane held on the 7th November 2015.

The club will share the award with joint winners: the Coolum Tennis Club.

The Barcaldine Lawn Tennis Club is over 100 years old and with their hard-working and proud volunteers continue to provide their local community with a family friendly venue with the opportunity to participate in physical activity and social interaction through the great sport of tennis. The club is now home to a total of six tennis courts, with the addition of two newly constructed synthetic grass tennis courts, three newly constructed Hot Shots courts, practice wall and the resurfacing of the existing courts. The club is going from strength to strength, all thanks to the clubs fantastic programs and fixtures all run by dedicated volunteers including the Community Play Program for primary school aged players, after-school tennis programs and junior and adult fixtures, and as a result the club has seen a successful increase in membership and participation levels over the last year.
