A series of events specifically for Hot Shots Green Ball players; developed as an avenue for practical skill development opportunities and competitive match-play experiences. All matches are played on full-sized courts as per the guidelines for this stage, with the 75% compression ‘green dot’ ball.

HOW DO I ENTER A GREEN BALL TOURNAMENT?

WHAT IS THE FORMAT FOR EACH TOURNAMENT?
- Players will be guaranteed four (4) matches on the day (withdrawals on the day may impact this).
- SCORING for main draw matches is one set, first to 6 games with a tie-break to be played (first to 7 points), should the score reach 5-5.
- SCORING for non main draw matches is one set, first to 4 games with a tie-break to be played (first to 7 points), should the score reach 3-3.
- All games will be short deuce, meaning the player who wins the point at 40-40 will win that game.
- *Tie-breaks will be first to seven (7) points, with a 2 point deficit.
- If it is a LET, the serve is to be replayed.
WHAT IS THE TYPICAL TIMELINE FOR A TOURNAMENT?
Timings will be dependent on the number of entries, the times of play are generally between 7:30am & 3:30pm, a schedule of match times will be made available the Friday before each tournament.
(The presentation of awards sees the prize giving for 1st, 2nd & 3rd place getters, Best Sportsmanship & Best Effort for EACH event).
DO PLAYERS RECIEVE AUSTRALIAN RANKINGS OR UTR?
No, Australian Ranking or UTR points are not associated with any event within the Gold Coast Region Green Ball Tournament Circuit.
Instead, players who participate in the Gold Coast Region Green Ball Tournament Circuit within the same calendar year will earn and accumulate points – recorded in the ‘Bolt to Brisbane’ point race.

The allocation of points available to players at each event within the circuit is as follows:
SINGLES:
1st place – 100 points | 2nd place – 80 points | 3rd place – 70 points | 4th place – 60 points | 5th place – 55 points | 6th place – 50 points | 7th place – 45 points | 8th place – 40 points | Second Round – 25 points | First Round – 15 points
Points are not transferable between age groups or circuits or regions.

Top eight (8) points race finishers will be invited to compete at the Coloured Ball Cup. The Top Four (4) finishers at the Coloured Ball Cup will be selected to represent Gold Coast at Bolt 2 Brisbane. Please note the following:
- You have to reside within the Gold Coast Region to be eligible to play the Coloured Ball Cup | Green Ball, as this is used as a selection tournament for the Gold Coast Bull Sharks | Bolt 2 Brisbane team.
- If you represent the Gold Coast Bull Sharks at the JDS State Finals or Battle of the Sands, you are ineligible to compete at the Coloured Ball Cup | Green Ball.
HOW ARE PLAYERS SEEDED?
Seeds are determined through the circuit points race and the number required is determined via TA Tournament Guidelines.
All players are guaranteed 4 matches.
NEED TO WITHDRAW FROM AN EVENT?
If a player enters into an event, they are expected to play unless they become prevented by illness/injury (must provide a medical certificate).
If a player cannot play, their parent/guardian must notify the Tournament Director in writing ASAP.
Clubs are not required to issue refunds, if withdrawal procedures are not followed.
A player who ‘no shows’ or withdraws during the event will not receive any form of refund.
The withdrawal deadline closes at Monday 11:59 pm before the tournament and withdrawals before this deadline will be granted a $35.00 refund.
Players who withdraw after the above deadline but before the release of the draw will be granted a 50% refund.
Players who withdraw after the release of the draw will not be entitled to a refund, even if a medical certificate can be provided.
In the event that the tournament is cancelled before a player completes their first match, a full refund less a $10.00 admin fee will be issued.
