Green Ball State League

The revamped Green Ball State League is an exciting association-based competition, that offers the most talented 10/u players in the metro area the chance to continue to develop their skillset while competing against the top players in their age group.

 

COMPETITION FORMAT
Six associations are involved, these are:

– Eastern Districts Tennis Association
– Glenelg Districts Tennis Association
– Hills Tennis Association
– North East Tennis Association
– Southern Districts Tennis Association
– Western Districts Tennis Association

*In addition to the 6 association teams, 2 wildcard teams may be chosen to compete as a mixed association team

  • The duration of the competition will be 7 weeks, allowing each team to play each other once
  • In the event we have fewer than 8 teams for this season, we will reduce the number of round accordingly.
  • Matches will be played on consecutively, Tuesday Nights from 6:00pm – 8:30pm
  • To be played at a central location (Tennis World Millswood)
  • Each team to consist of two boys and two girls
  • Matchdays will contain four singles, two same gender doubles and two mixed doubles matches, each rubber will be first to four.

Player Nomination 

  • Any player affiliated with one of the six associations may nominate to compete within the Green Ball State League Competition.
  • Each Green Ball State League player must be a minimum of 8 years of age at the start of the season and be no older than 10 years of age as of the first round, a player may turn 11 during the season after round 2.
  • Any player must compete in a majority of their matches (outside of green ball state league) at a green ball level to be eligible. This will extend to any green ball competition including but not limited to Association competition, Super 10’s, and JDS/Junior Tour events.
  • An association may submit request a special exemption for a player(s) who may fall outside of the selection criteria. Tennis SA will then review the request and render the final decision on the players eligibility.
