South Australia’s Luke Saville (Barmera, SA) is set to arrive on home soil after being crowned this year’s Junior Wimbledon champion.

The 17 year-old became the first Australian to raise the boys’ singles trophy since 2002 by overcoming local favourite Liam Broady (GBR) in a thrilling final. After also reaching the final of the Australian Open Junior Championships in January, the victory at Wimbledon has lifted Saville to No.2 in the ITF Junior world rankings.

Saville and young Queenslander Ashleigh Barty (Springfield, Qld) created history at Junior Wimbledon by winning the boys’ and girls’ singles – the first time both titles have been won by Australians in the same year.
