Over 70 tennis clubs have signed up to open their doors to the general public throughout 2011 Tennis Month (20 August – 25 September) as part of the Tennis SA’s ‘Come and Try Day’ initiative.
On Saturday 20 August the Tennis SA Millswood Complex was buzzing with activity as they hosted their ‘Come and Try’ day from 10.00am – 12.00pm, one of the first for Tennis Month. With over 40 new children visiting the venue with their parents it’s hoped the interest will translate to more members, and more people playing tennis.
The ‘Come and Try’ day concept was introduced by Tennis SA to welcome members of the public to their local tennis club. Players of all ages and abilities, from junior hot shots to social warriors and seasoned campaigners, are invited to their local club to have a go.
Alistair MacDonald, Tennis SA CEO says “Tennis continues to be recognised as the sport that Australians are most interested in, demonstrating how accessible the sport is in South Australia.
