National Tennis League – Player Registration Pool Finalised and Club Applications Now Open

The National Tennis League (NTL) continues to take shape as the player pool is finalised with the registration period closed as of Monday night.

150 players nominated into the pool which includes notable inclusions such as reigning Junior Wimbledon champ Luke Saville, Australian Open participant Colin Ebelthite and former World number 16 doubles player Todd Perry.

All NTL squads will include a minimum of two players under the age of eighteen and talented young guns including the likes of  Li Tu, Jack Schipanski, Thanasi Kokkanakis, Brooke Rischbieth and Kassandra Dunser will ensure they are not simply making up the numbers and are likely to be key squad members. 

The NTL formation process now moves to the next stage, with local Clubs lodging applications to be part of the 6 team league with the successful teams being announced on Monday September 19th

 NTL Snapshot:

  • 2011 NTL will feature competitions run in South Australia, Western Australia and Victoria, with the top 2 teams from each state meeting in the National Playoff in Melbourne during the 2012 Australian Open.
  • Over $50,000 in prize money is up for grabs in individual match payments and team prize money.
  • South Australia’s NTL will feature six men’s and six women’s teams competing in a five round competition plus one week of finals that commences Thursday November 3rd.
  • Innovative match formats.
  • All squads must include a minimum of two players under the age of eighteen.
  • All NTL regular rounds in SA will be played at the Millswood Complex and the finals played at Memorial Drive under lights on Thursday December 22nd.
