The first official season of North Eastern Tennis Association (NETA) Orange Hot Shots was completed yesterday with a fantastic finals day. 37 players completed represented Tea Tree Gully, Golden Grove, Salisbury Recreation Precinct, Broadview and The Grove.

A great time was had by all with some fantastic matches and many great rallies witnessed. With parents, granparents, siblings and competitors, there were at least 100 people at the Tea Tree Gully Tennis Club to take part in this event. The atmosphere was great.

NETA Orange Ball Coordinator & Tea Tree Gully Head Coach Jason Todd – “Without the modified tennis enabled by the MLC Tennis Hot Shots, none of these kids would be ready for club competition. As a result of this program, many of them will graduate into club tennis with great confidence when the winter season begins”.

A special thanks should go out to all the parents that have made this program a fantastic success.

The next season of the NETA Orange Ball Competition begins on Sunday 5  February and we will see numbers expand from 36 to around 60 competitors.

There are also tournaments available for Hot Shots players at the Tea Tree Gully Tennis Club on the 9th and 11th of January for those looking for a fun, challenging day or two duting the holidays.
