In a coup for tennis in South Australia, Tennis SA affiliated tennis clubs have today benefited from the latest round of State Government Community Recreation and Sport Facilities Program grants with over $1.2 million in facility funding awarded.
Adam Renfrey, Community Tennis Manager, Tennis SA said “This is largest amount of grant funding ever received by our affiliated clubs.”
“The $1.2million allocated will ensure Tennis SA can facilitate the development of in excess of $4 million worth of tennis infrastructure projects over the next twelve months on behalf of our affiliates under the Tennis Australia National Court Rebate Scheme”.
With over ten facility developments taking place from Tanunda to Onkaparinga to Gawler the real winner here is the sport of tennis as we will not only have more places to play, but better places to play,” Renfrey said.
Tennis SA affiliated clubs which will benefit from the latest round of funding include; Grange Lawn Tennis Club, Kapunda Tennis Club, Millicent Tennis and Netball Club, Tanunda Tennis Club, Onkaparinga Tennis Club, Trinity Gardens Tennis Club, Quorn Tennis , Valley View Tennis Club, West Lakes Tennis Club, Littlehampton Tennis Club and Gawler and District Tennis Association.
The National Court Rebate Scheme has attracted investment of more than $157 million dollars to improve facilities Australia-wide in the last four years.
The scheme is open to affiliated clubs and facilities in Australia. To find out how your club can benefit from the scheme visit http://www.tennis.com.au/clubs/funding.
About Tennis Australia’s National Court Rebate Scheme
The completed upgrades under the Tennis Australia rebate scheme range from improving existing facilities to building brand new tennis complexes that are capable of hosting international tennis events.
The program aims to better service communities by assisting with the upgrade of facilities and courts to international standards and by supporting the Grand Slam surfaces. It also allows clubs to expand and service a wider range of tournaments and special events.
Tennis Australia has invested more into facilities development in the past five years than has ever been spent in the history of the sport in this country.
Tennis Australia’s Facilities strategy is supported by state and territory Member Associations, clubs, government and other stakeholders.
